For $5 I thought what a deal. It read 21 songs but there were only 14. Then I checked the original listing and there were more than 21 songs on the original. A bit disappointed.

I was one of the lucky 500,000 all those years ago. Brings back lovely memories. Only problem is after download, every song is noted as performed by John B. Sebastian. Sure does a mean "Soul Sacrifice" and a mind blowing "Star Spangled Banner".

I was 13 when this was originally released in 1970 and bought the LP around that time. I only played the songs I liked back then and that hasn't changed. Not every performance here is good (e.g. Canned Heat's Going Up the Country) but some are great such as Coming Into Los Angeles-Arlo Guthrie, We're Not Gonna Take It-The Who, I'm Going Home-Ten Years After, Volunteers-Jefferson Airplane and I still listen to them regularly. I highly recommend owning the movie (The Who and Ten Years After's performance are historic) but recommend only buying the songs that you like from this soundtrack. There have been subsequent releases over the years that are more complete but not currently available on iTunes.

There are some albums that deserve vinyl. This is one of them. Put your $12.99 towards the LP.
